Thanksgiving
I haven't been feeling as thankful lately. I'm here, I'm alive, but sometimes I forget about the blessings. So here goes:
- I am thankful for a chance to study here in Missouri. I've learned how to classify 25 minerals, how to be kind of responsible, how to look cute at 9:30 in the morning. But most of all, thankful that I have the opportunity to study.
- I am thankful for my mother. When I got here, she realized that no one texted me anymore, no one wanted to hang out, and she volunteered to be my best friend. At the time, I didn't take her seriously. But she is my best friend, muyyyy apanadora, muy top.
- I am thankful for a job that I actually enjoy. Selling fast food isn't the most fulfilling thing I've ever done but it definitely isn't the worst.
- I am thankful for cute shoes on sale, large cokes, and prom dresses.
- I am thankful for the YSA ward. I thought it would be the worst, no offense, but I actually had the chance to go out a lot with the Sister Missionaries, and meet a lot of new people who are interested in finding the church. I also met the people of the YSA ward, and although they may not be the best dancers, I have made a friend or five. Probably the coolest people in Missouri.
- I am thankful for my puppy. Who stays in bed with me when I'm sad, and eats my food when I'm not hungry.
- I am thankful for being about to see my brother and my dad whenever I want.
- I am thankful for the gospel. With the help of John Lawson, the world's best institute teacher, I have learned a lot more about my religion, forgiveness, scriptures, and the best taco places in springfield mo. I am thankful for prayer, for knowing that things get better, because they always have and always will.
- I am thankful for my wonderful friends in Santiago and Springfield, thank you for being here for me.
- I am thankful for love. For the travels, the trials, the changes. I am thankful for all the people I have met.
So, being thanksgiving and all that, I am going to try change my attitude. I'm tired of being bummed when I have so much in my life that brings me joy. This is my life, all the good, the bad, and I am happy to be living it.
